Elegoo Mars USB Extension Cable Clamp
thingiverse
This is a simple solution to move the USB on a non-P/Pro Elegoo Mars to the front. By attaching this clamp externally, you can avoid making significant modifications to the printer itself. Internally, disconnecting the cable from the backing plate and cutting a hole in the front allows you to add two threaded holes for the USB. Most users are not fond of this idea, so I sought an alternative option. Two countersunk M3x6 screws on the side hold the front and back plates together. Replacing these with a fixture point allows you to use that as a clamp without altering the printer or its internal components. I chose the left side for my setup because my thermal controller is located on the right. This solution can be applied to either side of the printer. The design has a slight clamping action, taking into account potential cable manufacturing tolerances. If your cable is slightly undersized, this clamp will secure it in place; however, if it's oversized, you may need to scale or use a Dremel with needle files to achieve a proper fit. Required components include a 12-inch USB extension cable (available on Amazon) and two M3x8 countersunk screws. This design is tailored for the specific cable I used, allowing for easy measurement and adaptation. Variations of this design are included, catering to users who have hex cap or extra M3 button screws from their other 3D printers.
