Electronics Compartment Ring

Electronics Compartment Ring

thingiverse

I created this ring to replace the radio box in the original design, giving me complete access to the inside of the hull and more options for mounting electronics. This setup also saves weight and allows me to experiment with center of gravity by rearranging components fore/aft. To prevent water from entering the hull, I added an L-shaped bracket at the top of the ring. This design enables water to expend its energy against the lid before falling back down, rather than forcing its way past the gasket. For a gasket, I use adhesive-backed neoprene tape, which has kept the hull completely dry since I made this modification. If you haven't printed SlightlyAbnormal's model yet, I highly recommend it - it's an absolute thrill to run!
