Electronic Thermometer Housing
thingiverse
A clever enclosure for the basic $3 thermometer found on eBay that can be screwed onto any table, such as your Ikea Lack table. Two versions are available ... a 15-degree mount and a 45-degree mount. Photos showcase the 45-degree mount. The thermometer has a precise interference fit with the housing, making it simple to remove the thermometer to replace the batteries. \r\n\r\nThe optimal angle for maximum LCD contrast depends on your height and setup configuration. I found the 45-degree one to be quite effective on top of my three-storey Ikea Lack table. \r\n\r\nYou can coil up the excess temperature sensor cable underneath. Simply drill a hole in the Lack table and dangle the sensor down about an inch or so. Secure the housing to the top using two screws from your screw collection. \r\n\r\nFor the best visual appearance, before printing, you may want to rotate the housing with the front facing downwards on the heat-bed and use supports for the side tabs. Enjoy!\r\n\r\nUPDATE: I added a variant featuring nice curved edges on the face of the 45-degree housing as well. So the choice is yours... sharp edges or curved edges!
