Electronic LEA Strength Tester
grabcad
This machine measures the tensile strength and elongation of textiles like cotton, wool, and jute in skein form. It uses two vertically arranged lea holders to grip the specimen under tension until it breaks, measuring both strength and extension. The device consists of a metal base with load-measuring unit on top and driving assembly at the bottom; an electric motor powers this via a gearbox. Available in 100 LBS, 200 LBS, 300 LBS, and 500 LBS capacities, the Lea Strength Tester helps calculate Count Strength Product (CSP) with known count and strength in pounds. Additional requirements for testing include a wrap reel (Imperial system) for making lea and a direct yarn count balance to determine count.
