Electron Rocket
thingiverse
*Update*\r\nModified design to better match Electron's appearance, added covers, vehicle mounts, and lettering.\r\n\r\n1/60th Scale Model of Rocket Lab's Electron Launch Vehicle.\r\nBased on images and wiki data for height and diameter.\r\n\r\nThe Electron is a two-stage launch vehicle that uses Rocket Lab's Rutherford liquid engines in both stages. The vehicle can deliver payloads of 150 kg to a 500 km Sun-synchronous orbit with precision.\r\nThe Rutherford engine utilizes pumps powered by battery-powered electric motors, unlike traditional gas generators or expanders. Fabricated mainly through 3D printing via electron beam melting technology.\r\n\r\nI created this design for comparison purposes with the Saturn V model (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:911891) in picture, which still lacks its first stage.\r\n\r\nPrinted on a 0.2mm layer in black and grey, except for small details requiring a 0.1mm layer. Nozzle and tiny tanks on the second-stage engine will require some glue for secure attachment; all other components should fit together seamlessly.\r\nA few strokes of sign writing would be the perfect finishing touch.
