Remixed and adjusted for use on the Electron Prusa i3 clone that has a acrylic frame, designed to fit snugly around standard threaded rods. As you remove or replace spools, it should securely hold its position without excessive movement. If necessary, drilling through and adding an M3 screw can provide extra stability. The washers will easily fit onto threaded rod, and using a few nuts to secure them in place creates a rolling filament stand with good control.
