Electroformed Nozzle
thingiverse
The experimental design aims to create a more "replicatable" hot end using fundamental materials and procedures, sans precise equipment like metal lathes or drill bits. The prototype can extrude Polycaprolactone at 120°C. It features an electroformed copper main tube, insulated by cast plaster. Enamel-insulated copper wire forms the heater coil, and temperature feedback is achieved via measuring the copper coil's resistance. Electroforming, suitable for various metals, including nickel, could potentially facilitate transforming 3D printed forms into metal components.
