The overall goal of these designs is detailed in "3D Printed UV-vis Cuvette Adapter for Low Cost and Versatile Spectroscopic Experiments," a paper published in the open-access journal ACS Omega. The publication link is http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acsomega.7b01310. This specific component is designed to facilitate spectroelectrochemical experiments. The path length of this design is 10 mm and is intended to hold a planar, transparent working electrode such as ITO or FTO. A reference electrode can be positioned in the adjacent hole, while the counter electrode is placed in the second hole. Note that the counter electrode hole connects to the main electrolyte compartment via a tunnel running underneath. This adapter can be used with most standard UV-Vis spectrometers. We recommend printing this design using a black filament to minimize light scattering. An instructional video demonstrating how to assemble the spectrometer is provided below, along with a list of materials used. Either quartz or glass windows can be utilized depending on the spectral range required for the adapter.
