Vertices : 183704 Polygons : 367798 This product is created to explore and make new innovative solutions for prosthetic arm accessories and support parts. The main concept of this product is to carry metal parts and stuff with an electro-magnetic system. The power supply is located inside the main arm. If we need to carry some metal part, the power supply turns on and activates the electro-magnetic system, and then we can carry that metal part. When we want to put back that metal part, the electro-magnetic system shuts down (power supply turned off). The LEDs are automatically turned on when the electro-magnetic system is on. The LEDs turn off when the electro-magnetic system is off - this is just like an indicator light. I imagine placing the on/off button somewhere on the human body that's easily reachable and usable with another part of the human body, or we can put the on/off cable directly connected and disconnected with special movements like bending the arm - it turns on when bent and turns off when straight. My design direction is to create products that are simple, easy to use, suitable for veterans (safe and durable), visually pleasing in design, and functional. Some things I envision being picked up with this tool include: - The commonly used magnets for daily activities such as picking up a fallen needle or nail, or small metal parts with ease. - To open the refrigerator door or handle made of metal. - Carrying stainless steel materials like stainless steel cups or others. - Tidying up houses, garages, warehouses, workshops - there are many metal things that can be handled with this product. - Holding onto stair railings when turning up and down house stairs - Holding onto metal handrails in mass transportation like trains or buses. - Adjusting the zipper on a jacket made of metal. - Opening metal box cases. - Many other activities and benefits that can be explored with this system.
