Electrical Tape Dispenser With Cutter, Clamp & Adjustable Tape Spool Holder

This is my take on an electrical tape dispenser. What makes this one different is the small teeth and a clamp that holds the tape flat as it rips across the teeth. Without the clamp, pulling on the tape will be uneven and cause the tape to stretch and tear instead of being cut clean. To use: Place tape spool into dispenser, feed tape over cutter, add clamp to holder, pull as much tape as needed, hold down clamp with thumb, pull tape down and towards you to cut. To feed more tape, flip clamp back towards dispenser, and pull tape through. The tape end should flip up making it easy to grab. The non-adjustable dispenser file has a diameter of 31mm. If you need a smaller/bigger diameter, I have included an adjustable version. The adjustable file is two parts in one. It has to be split in your splicer before it can be adjusted. For Simplify3D, you can go to "Mesh" - "Separate Connected Surfaces". Then you adjust the X & Y axis of the tape spool holder to the size you need for your tape spool. I'm not sure how to do this in other splicers. I know Cura needs a plugin to be able to do this, but I haven't tried it. This model has tiny plastic teeth used for cutting that may not last long. I haven't put them through extensive testing, but I added a picture showing quite a few cuts. The teeth still look fine after all that. For longer lasting teeth, you can take a small piece of saw blade or cut a piece of the cutter off a plastic wrap box and weld/melt/glue it to the tip of the dispenser.
