I salvage old TV mount packaging to create custom electrical outlet templates for single or double-gang boxes. My collection of throwaway levels came in handy, as they provided precise measurements for cutting out work areas around outlets. By making each level pocket 0.5 millimeters larger than the diameter - a full 8 millimeters - I achieve a snug fit that ensures accurate cuts every time.
