Electrical Binding Post (bus bar) for Ring Terminals
thingiverse
This is a versatile part designed to utilize an M5 bolt with an 8mm head, along with matching hardware, as a single electrical binding post or bus bar for connecting multiple ring terminals together. I created this design specifically for use in an arcade machine, but its utility extends far beyond that application. Print Settings: Supports: Yes Notes: ABS is the material of choice due to its durability and ability to withstand stress. To ensure a precise fit between the bolt head and build platform, supports are highly recommended. Post-Printing: A correctly sized M5 bolt with an 8mm head (4.5mm height) is crucial for this design's functionality. While the hardware isn't as critical, I suggest using a washer with a 14mm outer diameter at the bottom and either a lock washer or split washer at the top under the nut. The example image features a bolt with a 25mm thread length, while #10 ring terminals can be found easily at any auto parts store. The snug fit of this design makes assembly straightforward. I screwed the bolt into place as much as possible from the bottom, then installed the large washer and nut before aligning the head properly and pulling the bolt through with the nut. The result is a remarkably stable post, even when the nut isn't in place.
