Three-phase electric motors are a type of alternating current (AC) machine that uses electromagnetic induction to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. They consist of two windings: one is the stator and the other is the rotor. The stator carries AC power, while the rotor carries DC power. When an AC voltage is applied across the stator, a magnetic field is generated which induces a current in the rotor, causing it to rotate at high speed.
