The Wind-Resistant Electric Meter Door Catch was left flapping wildly after the original catch broke. Taking the old part as a reference, I carefully measured its dimensions with precision calipers and then utilized AutoDesk 123D design software to create a brand-new replacement. After refining my design through approximately four iterations, I decided on the final version and had it printed using a MakerBot 5th Generation 3D printer in PLA material with a Smart Extruder+ fitted for optimal performance. Once installed, the new catch effectively stopped the door from swinging open due to strong winds, safeguarding the Electric meter and its surroundings from harsh weather conditions.
