This lets you attach a roll-up extension cord right away and organize the cord neatly. You can also unspool or re-spool the cord without removing it, or quickly take off the spool from its mount. See the picture below of the spool it was made to fit on. Screws used were standard 2 1/2-inch screws from Lowes.
