Electric Cooking Whisk

Electric Cooking Whisk

I set out to redesign a traditional cooking whisk because I saw numerous opportunities for improvement that could elevate the electric whisk concept even further. My goal was to create a more user-friendly product, one that makes using the whisk an enjoyable experience rather than a tedious task. My third objective was to enhance the power of the electric whisk by incorporating three blades instead of two, as seen in existing products. This design change would significantly reduce the time spent mixing food, making it a more efficient process. To achieve this, I utilized a cordless drill motor, which forms the core of the electronics within the whisk. The circuit comprises a motor, lithium battery, charging port, switch, and LED lights. These LEDs serve as indicators to show whether the switch is on or off, providing a clear visual cue. The optimal shell thickness for this design proved to be 1.6 mm, striking a balance between structural integrity and light weight. To ensure smooth operation, I set my 3D printer speed to 50 mm per second, which yields excellent results. Additionally, the middle gear features a hex drive, allowing the motor to rotate the gears efficiently. To minimize friction and prevent gear failure, I applied general-purpose grease to the gears. Furthermore, I incorporated ball race bearings into the design, which significantly reduces friction and ensures smooth operation.
