Electric Cooking Whisk

Electric Cooking Whisk

The reason I chose to redesign a traditional cooking whisk was that I saw several potential improvements that could be made to enhance the initial concept of an electric whisk even further. My goal was to create a more user-friendly product that would make using the whisk a more enjoyable experience for the user, rather than a tedious task. One of my key objectives was to improve the power on the electric whisk. I proposed using three blades instead of two, which are commonly found on existing products. With three blades, mixing food would become significantly faster and more efficient. The electronics of the whisk were designed around a compact cordless drill. The circuit consists of a motor, lithium battery, charging port, switch, and LED lights. The LEDs serve as indicators to show when the switch is turned on or off. I found that a shell thickness of 1.6 mm strikes an ideal balance between structural integrity and lightweight construction. To achieve optimal results, it's recommended to set your 3D printer speed to 50 mm per second. Additionally, ensure that the middle gear has a hex drive inside it, allowing the motor to rotate the gears smoothly. A general-purpose grease should be applied to the gears to prevent friction buildup, which could potentially damage the mechanism if left unchecked. To further reduce friction, ball race bearings can be added to the gears. A video demonstrating this design is available at https://youtu.be/UuDdoEyLhuk
