A compact circular bubble maker, measuring 7 inches in diameter, utilizes a standard blower fan and mini servo for rotation. Power is supplied to the blower fan by a 3-cell lipo battery housed within a battery compartment, which also feeds a BEC from an RC hobby source that converts the 3-cell voltage to 5/6v for the servo. The blower fan directly connects to a 12.4v lipo battery, while a round toggle switch mounted on the backplate completes the circuit for battery connection. The servo requires modification to its gearing by clipping the Endstop to enable 360-degree rotation. If your Servo is smart and fails to turn when it doesn't detect any signal, simply connect the 5/6 volts power directly to the motor. A layer of double-sided foam tape secured with a thin rubber band forms the wheel's foundation, followed by a second layer of double-sided tape over the first one. Once the wheel gets wet, the adhesive on the exposed side no longer works, but the cushion effect and friction provide sufficient turning capability. The bubble wheel is mounted using a threaded bolt with washers and a 5mm ID, 10mm OD, by 4mm bearing. The bolt does not need to rotate and can be secured into position with a nylon lock nut. This project requires quite a bit of material due to the fragile nature of the bubble wheel; therefore, I had to improvise a guard around the top in case of drops and tumbles. The front section and back section are securely fastened together using two wood screws that pass through the front and bottom (requiring holes to be drilled). The bottom legs are also mounted by drilling holes and securing them to the main body as desired. Printer settings: * Walls/shell top and bottom: 1.2mm * Nozzle size: 0.4mm * Material used: PLA 200/60 * Infill percentage: 15% * Support material usage: None on any of the parts * STL file orientation: As required The original STL files are available for download and can be found here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/05b6a423146151d8055e0032/w/a8690604f8a2b62c98952ff5/e/0163b6273836e739b2820466 Edit: October 29, 2017 - Waiting for the blower fan to arrive via snail mail.
