Elder Wand Lumos
thingiverse
This is a remix of jakereeves' Elder Wand (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1069671). I modified it so three LEDs can be glued to the tip of this wand, possibly printed with tiny details not even possible for my printer. Now, it's made up of three main parts: a driver circuit for the LEDs and a switch for turning them on/off powered by a 1.5V AAA battery. Building should be straightforward; just follow my pictures. One thing to note is that you must mirror the pcb side where the PR4402 is located! Use the files inside pcbs.tar.7z. The PCB's dimensions are: 70mm x 35mm, 900dpi. Parts list: 1x switch MSS-22D18 (SMD, 6-pin, 2.54mm pitch) 3x white LED (SMD 0603) 1x PR4402 (SOT-23) 1x 4.7µH inductor (SMD 1210) 2x 50V/100nF ceramic capacitor (SMD 0603) 2x springs (preferably from a AAA battery holder) 2-3m 0.15mm enamelled copper wire double sided PCB for etching The final segment of the wand, the longest part, requires significant cooling. In my case, I added a shield or tower near the wand to improve airflow as shown in one of my pictures. For first assembly, you'll need some silicone spray or similar to make threads work smoothly.
