Elder Wand (Dumbledore Wand) from two parts with possibility printing horizontally and vertically
thingiverse
Because my girlfriend sat on my first attempt at a wand from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2508722) and broke it, I searched for another option because the model from TonePLA was too symmetrical and didn't look like the one in the movie. I decided to create my own model by combining two different models. I took the entire wand from gpass's model (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3467035), but I wasn't a fan of the part with runes. The runes weren't accurate, and the whole section was too big. So, I used another model from captfoss (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3265566). This model had a perfect section with runes, but the other part of the wand (the dotted part) was too symmetrical. Since it's a wand made by death, I imagined it to be more historical and not uniform. The entire model was resized from 35.5 mm to 15 inches (38.1 mm). After combining these two models, the wand is almost perfect for me. This model has two parts and can be printed horizontally or vertically. There's a different printing option on each part. When printing horizontally, the right side of every photo shows: The pros are that the model is stronger because it's longer, has better detail at the top of the wand, and a better handle from the lower side. The whole print can be done in full speed. However, the cons are that the lower and upper parts (print side) are worse, the runes on both parts are very bad, there are more support parts, and taking out supports slightly destroys details. When printing vertically, the left side of every photo shows: The pros are that all parts have better detail, the runes on the wand are amazing, and almost no supports. However, the cons are that the top of the second part of the wand must be printed at 15% speed because vibration is very bad for the top and the result isn't nice. The wand is also more fragile. The difference between printing options is in the detail shown on the photos - the top side and bottom side. You can find my Elder Wand stand here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4112753
