Elder Wand

Elder Wand

I'm sharing with you a custom elder wand I created for the University of Washington's Yule Ball, marking my first 3D printing project and inaugural use of Fusion 360. Initially, I asked my roommate how 3D printers work, but she simply said I could figure it out on my own. However, when I arrived at the printing room, I was lost. So, I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who assisted me along the way - the wand turned out fantastic! The elder wand measures 38.1 cm in length, making it too long for a single print job. Therefore, I used Simplify 3D to adjust the size and orientation, allowing me to print all three parts at once. After printing, I bonded the parts together using super glue. My design was inspired by two projects on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1069671 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1089917. Nevertheless, I decided to create my own unique design. Print Settings: Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer Model: Creator Pro Rafting: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 1.75 mm Infill Percentage: Possibly 50% Notes: FYI - My temperature settings are 45 degrees for the plate and 230 degrees for the nozzle, taking approximately 2.5 hours to complete the wand. The filament color is gold, although it appears brown. Post-Printing: Overview and Background
