Elastic Strung Cute Animal Doll

Elastic Strung Cute Animal Doll

I made this little doll for my kids as a Christmas gift, and it's an elastic cord strung doll that stands up to rough handling due to its strong joints. The smaller baby doll is part of the package, and we gave our twins one each. To make these dolls, I use a simple elastic cord available at any craft store or Walmart. A dot of glue holds the knot in place, and you can adjust how tight the elastic is by playing around with it - looser allows for more movement, while tighter helps maintain the shape. These dolls are super fun to paint, and they come with either a simple body or one with a ruffled skirt. This project is still a work in progress, but I've had great results printing them at .2 layer height without needing any supports. Be sure to check out my other elastic strung dolls on Thingiverse. You can also have fun mixing and matching different bodies and faces.
