Properly modeling an O-ring seal can be challenging due to its diameter's dependence on design and squeeze amount. However, achieving correct pressure for effective sealing and easy assembly without damaging the ring is crucial. A specific method is used in this radial seal model to accurately determine o-ring dimensions: it includes variables for both o-ring diameters as well as inner and outer diameters in assembled position. Additionally, assuming constant volume, the actual size and deformation approximations are calculated. For a visual representation of these variables, refer to the accompanying sketch. If interested, I can also share the same model for an axial seal. This model is licensed under the LPGL license; details can be found at https://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl-3.0.en.html. It comes without warranty, but you may use it in commercial projects while citing open-source components and the license. Please remember to upload any modifications on this platform.
