I conceived an art project centered around replicating a nearby mountain, giving credit where it's due to touchterrain.geol.iastate.edu for providing the tool that converts terrain to STL files. Next, I refined the model in Fusion 360 and then successfully milled it out of a block of hardwood using a CNC bridgeport milling machine.
