Human figures were discovered at Isla Zapatera in Nicaragua. A massive amount of statues, petroglyphs and pottery found on site and nearby islands in the Zapatera archipelago prove that this region was a major ceremonial center for pre-Columbian Chorotega people. The statue uncovered features a human figure seated with a crocodile head resting atop its own.
