EL flat-field panel for astronomy
thingiverse
I made this panel for use with a round electroluminescent panel I got for making calibration frames for my small refractor telescopes. This is based on the Astrophotography 5in EL Panel Circle Flat Frame Kit I bought from Ellumiglow: https://www.ellumiglow.com/electroluminescence/el-panels/astrophotography-5in-circle-kit This kit comes with a 5" round EL panel and a frosted white acrylic panel to diffuse the light. It also has a 9V inverter with adjustable brightness. The EL panel has a built-in cord and connector with a fairly long wire and my panel has an area where I wind up the cord. I included a version without the cord area if you cut and splice your cord short. I use mine with my Samyang 135mm refractor using an offset adapter, but have included several other adapters in various sizes, based on a database of dew shield sizes I found online. I haven't tested these, so let me know how they fit. A Stellarvue 102mm refractor has a dew shield outer diameter of 123mm. With a 125mm opening, this is about the largest telescope that this panel can accommodate. The inverter power box has a belt clip. If you open up the inverter, you can remove the belt clip with one screw so that it can neatly fit into the flat panel as shown in my photo. These parts are interference press fit together.
