Einsy Rigid Case Upgrade
prusaprinters

I tried several other designs and figured I might as well model one myself that kept the original back and mounting structure so other existing prints like the Raspberry Pi cover could still be used. This design utilizes most of the original design but adds rigidity to the frame. Since building an enclosure is on my todo list and the power supply is being moved outside the enclosure, I wanted two frame stiffeners instead of one.

All existing wires are long enough, you may have to do some cable management but they will all fit. The heatbed will have less out of the box but still can easily cover the full travel of the Y-axis. Existing M3 x 10mm screw can be reused. All screws that are used for attaching to the frame (4), Einsy Rambo (4), X-axis clamp (2), Extruder Clamp (2), Heatbed Clamp (2) are M3 x 10mm (14 total). You will reuse the M3 hex nuts (4) for the Einsy board mounting. You will need (10) Type 562 M3 Square nuts (the same type used in the original assembly). The Cover requires M3 x 12mm (4) to fasten on. For fastening to the 3030 Extruded Aluminum, you need (2) M5 hammerhead nuts, (2) M5 fender washers with an outer diameter less than 21mm and (2) M5 x 10mm SHCS bolts. The existing extruder clamp must be reused unless you feel the need to print a new one. I modeled the Raspberry Pi cover as well and made sure that it would be able to be put on if needed. It has clearance when printing but I am unsure if when homing it will be an interference. It will extend past the frame toward the heat bed with a 1mm encroachment.

I have provided STEP files for anyone that wishes to modify this without having to go through what I did in painfully recreating the models from a mesh file.

Recommend printing with PETG, 0.20mm Quality, 30% Grid Infill
