Einscanned Jack-O-Lantern
thingiverse
I uploaded the scanned pumpkin to Thingiverse at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1846370 as a butchered result. The Einscan-S scanner captured the pumpkin in Free-Scan mode, and I used my own tripod mount from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1831507 to stabilize it. To reduce file size, I decimated the mesh in 3D Coat. The scan successfully captured the inside details of the carved gourd. For more information on how I scanned my pumpkin, listen to the 3D Printing Today podcast at threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com. Printer Settings: MakerBot is the printer brand used for this project. The printer model is the MakerBot Replicator 2. No raft was used during printing. Supports were enabled to ensure stability. A layer height of .2mm was set as the resolution. Infill density is at 15%.
