Einiosaurus procurvicornis
thingiverse
Einiosaurus procurvicornis stands as a medium-sized icon of the ceratopsian (horned) dinosaurs, emerging from the Cretaceous period approximately 75 million years ago. Outranking its well-known relative, Triceratops, by almost 8 million years makes Einiosaurus a distinct pioneer in this dinosaur family tree. The Two Medicine Formation in Montana serves as the archaeological site where remnants of Einiosaurus have been discovered, painting a vivid picture of its existence within a semi-arid, seasonal environment. Fossil evidence suggests that Einiosaurus might have lived in groups, relying on tough plant species such as cycads for sustenance. The most defining feature of this dinosaur is its peculiar horn shaped like an "can-opener," drooping significantly and playing a vital role in self-defense against predators. A fierce opponent in the early days was Daspletosaurus, a T. rex precursor that appeared to have evolved with ceratopsian-hunting capabilities. Through extensive use of Blender and detailed refinement via Mudbox, models of Einiosaurus were created with great precision. The models underwent polycount reduction to make them suitable for printing purposes.
