Eight Filament Reel Holder from PVC Pipe
thingiverse
Make an eight-reel holder for quick and easy filament access during frequent printing projects. You'll need 1.5" x 10' PVC pipe, 1" x 10' PVC pipe, 8x 1.5" T-connectors, 8x 1.5" corner connectors, 8x 1.5" couplings (used as end caps), 4x 1" T-connectors, 4x 1" corner connectors, a 26" piece of 90-degree angle plastic (optional), and hdpe tubing. Cut the PVC pipes into 8 pieces measuring 3.5" and 4.5", and 2 pieces each measuring 26", 11", 20", and 5". Assemble the spool arms, slide them over the 26" pieces of 1" PVC, attach corner connectors, riser pieces, and T-connectors for stability. You can leave the support frame unglued for easy modifications. Add a 90-degree cross piece for support and filament guidance, with hdpe tubing to be added later. Remove end caps, insert spools, and guide your filament into the chosen tubing for easy access to eight spools of color! With two reels on your Makerbot, you'll have 10 easily accessible filament reels.
