Eigenharp Tau to Manfrotto Quick Release Adapter

Eigenharp Tau to Manfrotto Quick Release Adapter

thingiverse

After just two days of owning an Eigenharp Tau, it has become clear that my old man neck and arthritic shoulders are incompatible with the Tau's neck strap. I want to stand up while playing, so I decided that I needed a solution that could hold the Tau in place for me. Using a computer-aided design program and a 3D printer, I've created an Eigenharp Tau to Manfrotto Quick Release Tripod adapter. With the Manfrotto ball joint head on a standard photographic tripod, the Tau can be positioned perfectly and solidly in almost any position. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 4 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: Low Infill: 60% Notes: I printed this adapter fairly solid so it is strong. I don't want to rely on a weak plastic adapter for this expensive instrument. Post-Printing Installation steps: Remove the existing quick release bracket for the Tau neck strap. Get some longer replacement screws (M3 .5x20mm) and some washers. Insert the adapter into the original bracket's location, followed by inserting the screws/washers. Put the adapter on the tripod and tighten the friction lever. The lock lever will snap into place, making a very secure mount. You're done! The Eigenharp Tau can now be held at virtually any angle or height.
