Eiffel tower with it's original design
sketchfab
The Eiffel Tower showcases its original design from 1889. I created this model using Autodesk Inventor 2017, drawing inspiration from Gustave Eiffel's blueprints (http://passerelles.bnf.fr/albums/tour_eiffel/index.htm). While not all dimensions were included in the drawings, I captured screenshots that I imported into inventor and scaled to achieve precise measurements. One major challenge was managing file size - after importing a STEP file into 3ds Max, the resulting file weighed approximately 1.3 GB. However, with optimization tools like "Pro Optimizer" within 3ds Max 2016 and "Polygon Cruncher," I was able to reduce the file size to 280 MB. I also honored the 72 scientists involved in the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1889 by incorporating their names into the model. You can download a verified zip file containing OBJ, STL, STP, and 3DS Max files (2016 release) for further exploration.
