Eiffel Tower, remixed top

Eiffel Tower, remixed top

This is my personal twist on Aaron's Designs' breathtaking design, featuring a more authentic top of the tower, based on the original blueprints. For all those who think that the models of the Tour Eiffel you can buy in tourist shops in Paris are not large enough. Print Settings Important: the parts must be cut from 3mm material (MDF in my case). The parts are provided in SVG and DXF format, whichever is suitable for your lasercutter. The SVG/DXF only include the parts for the new top (everything above the second floor of the tower). You will need to cut all the parts from Aaron's Designs first, up to (but not including) the big mast above the second floor (4 pieces, one per face). The assembly of the parts should be straightforward (the original design was called a puzzle after all), if in doubt refer to the pictures. Don't apply glue until you are sure that you assembled the parts correctly. Parts stay together quite well even without glue. Made at FabLab Renens How I Designed This When visiting Paris with my kids last year, we saw both the real Tour Eiffel and the original version of this stunning 3D puzzle which was being showcased at the Paris Maker Faire. Needless to say, we just had to have it. And while I was waiting for the laser cutter to finish its job, I redesigned the uppermost part of the tower, based on the original plans that can be found online.
