I'm an architecture student focusing on computational and parametric design. Although I work mostly on inhabitable spaces, I wanted to try something new with this challenge. I've never worked in this scale, with Keyshot, or on a design competition before, although I 3D print many models for my studies.Coming across this competition a bit last-minute, I had to restrict myself and focus only on specific criteria. I decided to make a single object and emphasize form, printability, and aesthetic, rather than the construction and materiality of an actual mouse.I iterated 6 mice and decide upon this one to be the submission. My result is a symmetrical, claw grip mouse with distinctive curves that invites the hand and gestures towards a future of organic and ergonomic PC peripherals. It is one solid, water-tight model that prints reliably with support material, as you can see based on my own Wood-PLA print.Feel free to take my design and work with it, but let me know if you do.
