Grave of distinction for Carl von Lützow at the Vienna Main Cemetery. Carl von Lützow (1897-1932) was a renowned German art scholar and university professor. In 1863 Carl von Lützow moved to Vienna and initially served as a private instructor at the university. The following year he became a lecturer in art history at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1867 he was appointed extraordinary and in 1882 full professor of art history at the Technical University of Vienna. Since the celebrated art historian had made his home in the Austrian capital, the city of Vienna recognized him with a grave of distinction at the Central Cemetery.
