# Eheim Classic 250 filter divider This is a simple divider I made in OpenScad. I didn't understand why the Eheim classic filters don't have dividers in them so I made one myself and decided to share it. I don't want to throw my Eheim filter away because it's otherwise perfect in it's simplicity. In a stock setting, the Eheim Classic filters require you to place the mechanical filtration on the bottom of the filter and the final cotton on top of the substrate which is in between. When you add heavy biological filter material in between, the sponges on the bottom get squished down, which isn't beneficial to the filtering quality of the sponge. Plus, you always want the mechanical filteration to be done first, before letting the water flow past the substrate. So the cotton should be on the bottom as well. This divider can be used to fill with whatever sponge or cotton you require and then place other material on top, without squishing the sponge. The sponges can stay fluffy for the best filter quality.
