Ancient Egyptians revered a stunning terracotta polychrome goddess named Aphrodite Isis during the Ptolemaic Period. As the goddess of love, desire, and beauty, Aphrodite possessed a mesmerizing allure that captivated all who laid eyes on her. Her breathtaking beauty was only rivaled by the magical girdle she wore, which had the power to compel everyone to crave her presence. Two distinct accounts detail her birth. According to one legend, Aphrodite was the daughter of Zeus and Dione, a revered mother goddess worshipped at the sacred Oracle of Dodona. However, a more widely accepted account reveals that she emerged from the sea on a massive scallop shell after Cronus brutally severed Uranus' genitals and cast them into the ocean. From there, Aphrodite made her way to the shores of Cyprus. In another variation of this ancient myth, she was born near the enchanting island of Cythera, earning her the nickname "Cytherea".
