Egyptian Queen fragment of a head- yellow jasper
thingiverse
Warning, the STL model is not the final one, just a test run. This replica accurately captures the fragment head in yellow jasper preserved at the Metropolitan Art Museum. Unfortunately, they do not offer replicas of this piece in their shop. I will remove this model if they scan their sculpture for public display. This stunning sculpture from Amarna's 18th dynasty is one of the most beautiful works of art ever created. Despite being commonly referred to as "Queen Tiyi," no one knows her true identity with certainty. The mouth does not match that of Nefertiti, Tiyi, or Princess Kiya. The enigmatic smile on this sculpture seems to convey a message: "It's me." Delicately sculpted, the mouth is an impressive work of art in itself. By reducing the woman to just her mouth and brain, the artist has effectively silenced her while still speaking to us across 43 centuries. This project is ongoing, so I will provide the STL file as soon as it is completed. For now, you can follow my progress with photogrammetry techniques to fill in the missing parts of the model, which currently includes holes and bumps.
