Egyptian Crown - Headpiece - Cobra

I created this Egyptian crown for a Halloween Pharaoh costume that really stands out. It consists of interlocking pieces that fit together seamlessly, making it simple to print and assemble crowns for various head sizes. The design includes an optional Cobra headpiece which can be attached securely with glue. I've also included a traditional crown link example, showcasing how the pieces snap together firmly yet remain adjustable for a precise fit. Each crown link features 12mm pockets that perfectly accommodate rhinestones, and I used red ones but they come in various colors at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. The crown is designed to be customized by fitting a wire coat hanger around your head and transferring the loop layout to a wooden bending form with a pencil. The strip of interlocked links is then quickly submerged in hot water (150°F) and shaped around the wooden form. If you don't have wood, you can bend the links around something like a frying pan. Letting them cool on the form causes them to retain their shape. The crown is crafted from PLA, which warms up easily and bends effortlessly. Although the pieces snap together, I chose to glue mine with gel-type Super Glue for added security. After that, I gave the crown a golden makeover using spray paint. Finally, I secured the rhinestones into their pockets with more glue. To print my crown components, I used PLA at 200°C and ensured that both the links and the Cobra had sufficient support during printing. Once printed, snap together the links and then gently shape them in warm water (150°F) to achieve the desired form.
