Eglise Sainte-Anne de Leychert / Retable
sketchfab
The retable is attributed to the Toulouse school, its style being characteristic of baroque art in the 17th century: angel heads, seashells, clouds above Saint John and Mary, floating garments in the wind, emotions on faces... The execution quality of this furniture is remarkable. The sculptor goes so far as to sprinkle certain garments with small fleur-de-lis flowers. On the vault of the choir are painted pictures of the four evangelists. The proximity of the decor with that of churches in Péreille, Dreuilhe and above all Saint-Jean-du-Falga where there is a signature, allows, despite remaniements, to attribute them to the 17th century artist Jean Soun.
