Eggbot Frame Remix (jjrobots version)
thingiverse
This design builds upon the jjrobots eggbot project and offers a frame with more space for larger objects. Their original frame is truly impressive. Notable enhancements include: - The use of 2020 aluminum extrusions, based on current industry standards. - Adjustable idler and egg motor carriages allow for flexibility in handling various object sizes. - An adjustable vertical arm enables precise pen adjustment. - Tool height can be adjusted to accommodate different project requirements. You can access my design in Fusion 360 through a [public link](https://a360.co/2EkNZ2e). It's easier to download the model from there and work with it in your preferred format. Here are links to the materials I purchased for this build: [150mm Extrusions](https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C91SB4D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) [250mm Extrusions](https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BNHP3PF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) [Nifty Feet](https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JKDZWKR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) [Assorted M5 Brackets, Nuts, and Bolts](https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B076D76YDD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I also bought some zip ties and other miscellaneous nuts and bolts, but most people probably have those items readily available. Additionally, I printed 13 [quick change](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1996091) pen thingies for my use. Since I utilized ultra fine point sharpies, the lid didn't work as intended. Therefore, I've included the STL for my custom lid in the files here. It's quite sleek. A note about assembling the quick change mechanism... seat the magnets in the base part first and secure them with glue. Then allow the magnets for the changeable end to rest on those so they are oriented correctly... not just back to front, but circular. Mark them with an arrow and pull them off one at a time and glue them to the quick change end as exactly as possible (left to right, back to front, and at the same angle). If you don't get it right, things can become complicated. Assembling this project should be self-explanatory. However, if you're unsure about anything, feel free to reach out and ask questions. You know that the hobby license for Fusion 360 is free, so if you install it and open my export, you should be able to play around with things. I probably should have made the bolt holes bigger everywhere because they can be tight, particularly on the tool head. That part is challenging to adjust unless you open those holes up some. This design is rough, I know, but I'm no longer working on it. If you want something specific, let me know. Otherwise, feel free to remix it yourself as I've granted access directly to the cad work I did already. Have fun!
