Egg Tray / Carton

<p>My mother was looking around for an egg tray/carton design she liked and couldn't find any that fit what she had in mind, so I modeled one for her. It's pretty simple, no fancy bells and whistles but it's intended to make use of old cartons to provide the egg holders in the bottom of the box and to save on printing time &amp; material. Simply cut the bottom half off of an egg carton and insert it into the box like in the picture above and you'll have a much sturdier container you can keep up to a dozen eggs in.</p> <p>There are 2 versions of the lid since I figured not everyone would want one with the word "eggs" on it.</p> <h3>Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Rafts:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p class="detail-setting supports"><strong>Supports: </strong> <div><p>Doesn't Matter</p></div> <p><strong>Resolution:</strong></p> <p>0.2mm</p> <p class="detail-setting infill"><strong>Infill: </strong> <div><p>5%</p></div> <p><strong>Filament:</strong> Any PLA <br/> <p class="detail-setting notes"><strong>Notes: </strong></p> </p><div><p>Infill isn't really needed here, but it's best to use a bit since the bottom of the box and the top of the lid are 1/8in thick. </p> Recommended print settings / instructions: <ul> <li>Save yourself the time, don't use a raft. A brim or skirt will be more than enough.</li> <li>I used 6 wall layers to print the sides as solid material and left the bottom partially hollow with infill supporting it. This isn't strictly necessary, but you'll get a nicer print this way without using a ton of material setting it to 100% infill.</li> <li>Parts are already oriented for printing, you shouldn't need supports for anything. The 3D text is deliberately shallow to help with this.</li> </ul> </div></p></p> Category: 3D Printing
