Egg Slicer

Egg Slicer

This is a working egg slicer. Both parts are printable without support and minimal bridging. Print in ABS if possible, as this material will not warp even when placed in the dishwasher. In contrast, printing with PLA may lead to warping. For a waterproof finish, print at a high temperature if possible. The specified printer settings for my slicer were 30% fill, with .15 mm layers on top and .25 mm layers at the base. To assemble this device, gather some small-gauge wire and pliers. I recommend using 28 gauge stainless steel wire, as it provides both durability and resistance to water damage. Any similar wire should suffice, provided it meets these criteria. Steer clear of fishing line, however, as it flexes too much when handled. Begin by threading a piece of wire through one of the mounting holes located near the top piece's corners. Weave the remaining portion of the wire through 20 available slots (10 per side) - always starting with the opening below your chosen anchor point. Aim to keep tension on the thread with each successive pass. Once both ends are knotted in place, pick up a pair of pliers and tackle that tiny, vertical raised platform sporting an incorporated notch near every outermost hole on top piece's border. Lever this wire upward as often as feasible until taut. When using this tool, position your hard-boiled egg at a 90-degree angle to its holder - the removable base with the integrated wires, situated on one end and two thin prongs holding in place at the other end for added support when not operational - after which slide it beneath. The main part consists of interconnected segments connected through their vertical ridges (the narrow wire threading). Should your eggs be diced, flip this half-cylinder piece counterclockwise 180 degrees to ensure perfect segmentation by running through the wires to remove diced contents at one angle for precise measurements, depending on requirements. Afterwards, submerge and allow cleaning to wash any residues accumulated during utilization, making maintenance smoother when preparing storage arrangements
