Eggs have a tendency to crack when placed in boiling water. The liquid inside expands at a faster rate than the air chamber can release its trapped air. A simple solution to this problem is to puncture the air chamber on the large end of the egg. I designed a tool that securely holds a needle, making it easier to accomplish this task.
