The physics behind an egg drop is quite straightforward. With simple materials like two sponges and two rubber bands, anyone can conduct this experiment at home. When an egg falls to the ground, it experiences a significant amount of compression due to gravitational force, which often results in breakage. To counteract this shock, we need to create a protective system for the egg. First, cut two semicircular sponges and place them around the egg. Next, use the rubber bands to secure the sponge tightly in both directions. Finally, place the entire setup inside a box. This way, upon impact, the sponges will absorb the shock and protect the egg even from a 30-foot drop. Give it a try!
