Egg of Thrones
grabcad
This innovative design employs curved legs that redirect energy away from the egg and ensures easy assembly, thanks to simple 3D printing process. Each base has 5 holes for support columns between the two bases, while each curved leg fits into one of the 15 holes on each base, totalling 30 legs. The separate printing of each piece allows for flat printing with minimal material usage and no need for support material. This design accommodates various egg sizes/shapes. Upon impact, the vertical orientation enables feet to flex outwards, while the shape and length of the legs protect the egg from horizontal landings or bounces due to their ability to flex in multiple directions. Assembly is effortless: insert each leg into the designated holes, place the egg on the bottom base, add support columns around it, then fit the top base securely on top of the egg. This design calls for pieces that fit together seamlessly without tools or adhesives; however, access to a 3D printer is necessary to bring this idea to life.
