Egg-centric Egg Holder
thingiverse
Recently shopping for fridges, my biggest frustration was with egg storage. I couldn't find a single fridge where the egg holders didn't look ugly and failed to be useful. As a staple of my kitchen, eggs deserve to be showcased, just like bread tins or milk jugs. I shouldn't have to settle for an unsightly chunk of plastic storing them. For me, uselessness is another problem - some fridges can hold only 10 eggs, leaving me wondering when I'm supposed to eat the remaining eggs in the dozen right away and raw? In fact, being able to hold a simple dozen eggs isn't enough; usually, I buy a new pack while still having one or two from the last box. My egg holder needs to adjust its capacity to match my voracious appetite for eggs. That's why the versatile egg-centric egg holder was created. Holding 7 eggs in a single layer (or 4 more in an audacious pyramid configuration!), the hexagonal arrangement maximizes packing space. When you grasp the outer edges of the egg holder and lift it, the second nested tray pops up - it can be placed on top or beside the first loaded layer for a total of 14 eggs (18 if you opt for a thrilling pyramid formation). Simply nest them together when not in use to optimize fridge space efficiency. Since it's 3D printable and instantly usable straight from your printer, I hope this innovative design impresses you as much as it did me!
