Hello, I'm presenting an alternative version of the Eggbot. My idea is to not only paint eggs but transform the device into a 3D printer with a few simple steps. The pendulum is equipped with a 19x6x6 bearing as well as the egg holder itself. Here you can see two bearings in each one. If you want to build the printer, be sure that every DVD drive has different mass!!!!!!! The distances of the holes to the intake are different from DVD to DVD. Since each 3D printer prints different circles, you should also check the bearing mass because I had to add 0.5 mm in my case. This means: the bearing is 19mm so I set it to 19.5mm. I have dismantled 10 HP DVD drives, all of the same model but from 2006 to 2011. Only models 2008 and 2009 were identical. Good luck with your project.
