Chronology: Early (600-400 BC) to Late Phase (400-100 BC) Red-on-buff pottery was the most popular painted ware in Chupícuaro Culture, with forms ranging from ollas, open and rimmed bowls, oval shapes and tecomates, to spider-leg tripods, pedestal bases and effigy vessels. The forms are a reflection of the innovative techniques used by artisans during this time period. This piece was originally part of a local's private collection currently living in Querétaro, México. A detailed photogrammetric model was created with Agisoft PhotoScan Pro and rendered with KeyShot4 to showcase the intricate details of the pottery. Muriel Noé Porter conducted extensive excavations at Chupícuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, which were published in 1956. Her findings were documented in "Excavations at Chupícuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico" (Transactions of the American Philosophical Society, New Series, 46 (5):515-637).
