Efficient Infill-Divided Battery Holders
prusaprinters

These battery holders are just really simple crate type, but with a difference. These were made completely in PrusaSlicer, utilising only primitives from the shape library and adjusting the perimeter and infill options to achieve an exact fit for the intended battery arrangements.

While this is not a super-efficient solution, such as what could potentially be done better with a pure G-code generator, this is what I could come up with for now - and when tweaked just right the results are extremely clean and quite pleasing.

I like the hexagonally arranged type especially as it makes better use of the area given, is stronger, and hexagons fascinate me. Also this 20-cell model is 69x69 mm, which fits exactly inside the base of a Tetra Rex carton, so this can also be used to further package the contents.

To make your own sizes requires some dabbling with the parameters, model groups and the “Infill Shifter” shape because of the way PrusaSlicer handles infill generation. Have fun!

I will post some more of these soon.
